SPORTS LAW

 

Sports Law comprises the features of both civil law and public law such as penal law, law of obligations and employment law. It has started to become a common topic of conversation and come into prominence subsequent to the entry into force of the law on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports, dated 31.03.2011 and numbered 6222. This field of law contains a substantial amount of internationality thus requires expertise. Mr. Emre Senar BOZKURT, LL.M, the founding partner and head of sports law department of Bozkurt Law Firm, has been involving in sports for a long time, as both player and trainer in chess, tennis and swimming. During a quite lengthy period of his professional career, he has assumed the position of attorney at law of Galatasaray Sports Club, of which he is a member, and the subsidiaries thereof. In course of this duty, he has actively participated in the arbitration and appeal procedures before FIFA Arbitration Court CAS and FIBA Arbitration Court BAT. He has prepared contracts of players for Galatasaray Sports Club and the Joint Stock Company of Galatasaray Sportive that is the subsidiary to which football team of Galatasaray belongs. He has managed the appeal procedures for the disciplinary penalties with regard to the players or the club. He has made the applications before the relevant authorities and resolved bureaucratic issues. Acquisition of usufruct regarding the Rams Park Stadium, evacuation of Galatasaray Island and valuation of Riva land are also of the main legal successes realised with the contributions of Att. Exp.Mdt. Emre Senar BOZKURT, LL.M. He also worked as a senior legal counsel for Saran Holding which is a worldwidely known prominent company in the field of sports broadcasting.
